Israel “Izzy” Gallegos was raised in Immokalee and came to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior when he was 9 years old. Izzy played football and graduated from Immokalee High School. He attended Florida State University where he majored in Physical Education. Upon graduating from FSU, Izzy returned to Immokalee to teach and coach football. 

 

In 1993, he met his wife Wendy. They were married in 1994 and have been richly blessed by their 5 children; Juan, Lissette, Tony, Ariana and “Little” Izzy. Izzy and Wendy live in Ave Maria and continue to teach at Immokalee High School. They served faithfully at a local church in Immokalee for over 12 years until God called Izzy and his family into the ministry at First Baptist Immokalee and Fellowship Church at Ave.

 

Izzy serves as the Director of Sports Ministry at First Baptist Immokalee and Fellowship Church at Ave. He is excited to be a part of what God has for the Ave Maria and neighboring communities.
